The reality is that these companies are not really spirits producers, but merely bottlers. Their main ingredient is industrially produced extra-neutral cane alcohol, distilled to an extreme 96.5% purity. This process strips away character, flavor, and aroma, resulting in a base spirit that requires heavy flavoring to resemble the traditional aguardiente taste.

While industrial producers buy mass-produced alcohol, blend it with water, synthetic anise flavoring, and sugars, and bottle it, Desquite takes a farm-to-bottle approach. We grow our own organic cane, evaporate the cane juice to turn it into molasses for fermentation, distill with care using our hybrid 9-plate copper still, and infuse with natural anise and pure Andean spring water. Every step happens under our roof, allowing full control over quality, flavor, and sustainability.
